Is home workout better than gym? can you do all gym exercises at home?
When you go to the gym you can do all the exercises but is home workout better than gym? You will get the same results?
Is It Better to Workout at Home or At the Gym?
“Is home workout better than gym?” In my workout experience, the answer to this question is yes! You can do all gym exercises at home. You can do every exercise at home. In fact, you can do anything you want to do at home that you can do in the gym. All you need is the right equipment.
Exercise is a healthy habit. If you are an avid gym goer, you would know that there is a lot of time that you waste while waiting for your turn. You would get bored and restless.
Most people choose to exercise at home rather than go to the gym. But why is it that everyone is not into home exercise?
I will share what are the pros of joining a gym, and the negatives of joining a gym.
Also, what are the drawbacks and advantages of a home workout from a home gym!
Personally, I would say if you are living in a house and have a spare room, then slowly build your home gym. There are tons of benefits of doing your workouts efficiently at home. Here are some home gym setup ideas and costs.
Benefits of working out at home instead in the gym in India
Here is what I use to workout at home!
Less time waste doing exercising
Working out at home is a great way to get in a workout when you don’t have much time. You can do it in a shorter time than going to the gym, and you can make it more challenging by using your own body weight as resistance. Home workouts are also great for those who have short time constraints.
Indeed, home workouts are a great way to get in shape without having to spend hours at the gym.
Home workouts can be done in a fraction of the time it would take to go to the gym and can be done at any time of day or night.
Additionally, home workouts are great for people who are short on time.
Save gym membership money in India
You can save a lot of money by working out at home rather than in a gym. Gym memberships can be expensive, and you may not use them as often as you’d like.
You can install a home gym for relatively cheap, and there are many different types of equipment to choose from.
Be sure to do your research before making a purchase, and read some home gym reviews to find the best option for your needs and budget.
No stress and social anxiety
There are many reasons why working out at home can be more beneficial than going to the gym. For one, you don’t have to worry about social anxiety because you’re in the comfort of your own home.
Besides, you’ll save money on membership fees and transportation costs.
Easy access to kitchen and diet so you can get your meals faster
You can see results quickly by working out at home and putting more focus into your diet.
You can cook your own meals at home, which gives you quick and easy access to the food you are eating.
This allows you to better control the ingredients and nutrients that are going into your body.
Where home workout or Home gym lacks!
Home gyms are a great way to get a workout without having to leave your house, but they often lack the variety of equipment that people find in a traditional gym.
This can be frustrating for some users, who may feel that they lack choice in their exercises or find it difficult to complete a full workout with only a few pieces of equipment.
It can be harder to leave behind responsibilities and cares of home life when your gym is attached to your house.
It can be easier to get into the right state of mind at membership gyms than at home gyms because they often have more structure and a specific purpose.
Sacrifice a living room
To set up a gym room, you will often need to give a full room to it. If you want to install a lot of equipment, then you would need a larger room as well.
Why go to the gym in India?
There are a few benefits of going to the gym which you can not get by working out at the home. Here are these!
Works for any fitness goal – weight loss or strength goals
With a gym, you can have access to all fitness equipment so your weight loss or weight gain goals can work. All you need to do is ask your gym trainer, and he will tell you what to do.
Variety of workout experiences
Gyms offer a variety of different tools to help you get fit and stay healthy. This can include access to personal trainers, a variety of cardio machines and weights, and other helpful resources.
When it comes to getting in shape and staying motivated, the gym can offer more variety than at-home workouts.
Convenience and affordability are two main reasons why people join gyms. Depending on the location, a gym can be quite convenient as it is often close to home or work.
Gyms also provide a space where people of all ages and sizes can come together and work out in peace.
However, some people find that they are bored at the gym because there is usually not much else to do but exercise.
The Gym Offers Routine
The gym offers a routine that helps you stay focused during your workout. This routine includes set times for different types of workouts, such as cardio, weightlifting, and Pilates.
Also, by stepping into the gym you can change your mindset. This routine and environment help you physically and mentally to be more focused on your workouts.
You can also expect group classes to be scheduled at specific times throughout the day so that you can better focus on your workout without any distractions.
Some gym offers a distraction-free environment that allows you to better focus on your workout and achieve the results you’re looking for.
Joining the gym can save you time and hassle when it comes to scheduling your workout.
Professional guidance by gym trainer
Gyms provide professional guidance to their members in order to help them achieve their fitness goals. This guidance can come in many forms, such as personal training, nutritional advice, and more.
Gyms can provide you with guidance from fitness professionals who have years of experience helping people reach their fitness goals.
1 on 1 training can be super costly, though.
And in small gyms, personal guidance is often not available, and you are suspected to fall into the broscience trap.
Many gyms offer wonderful deals that can lower your membership costs. They have high-quality exercise equipment that you can use to kickstart your fitness journey.
Community focus motivation
The gym provides a sense of community and with the help of others like being a spotter, you can improve your lifts. Also, it can be motivating to see others working out hard.
Cons of Joining a Gym
A gym is often crowded, and it is not easy to do your workout smoothly at all. Many times while doing lateral raises I had to shout “moving my arms, keep a safe distance”.
Yes, it gets that crowded.
Especially when some festival is coming up. It seems boys believe they can get jacked or slim within 2-3 months without diet, steroids and proper training.
Distance to the gym
The gym where I used to go is 15 minutes away from my home by cycle. Still, it felt a lot of distance. And I finally started building my home gym.
I did not like to pack and unpack my gym bag and travel using my cycle at all.
However, if the gym was like in my building complex, then I would gladly go there.
No time flexibility
Gyms are not all open 24/7 and some have hours that might not work with your own schedule. Gyms may close on holidays or due to inclement weather when you’re still itching to lift.
If you are not from a tier 1 metro city in India, then you will not find gyms that are open 24/7. The local gym of mine takes even a day off per week.
In posh areas, gym fees are skyrocketing. Yes, you might get some help from trainers, but if you are just going there to stay fit, you do not even need a trainer.
Routines, diet and motivation are all available online, being a little logical will help you get the workouts right.
By doing home workouts, you do not need to spend money on membership fees. You can either invest the money or use it to buy new equipment.
Oh boy! People often will interrupt while you are working out. This happens very frequently when many friends try to work out together. They often gossip and cause disturbance to others.
is home workouts effective as gym?
If you are only doing bodyweight workouts, then home workouts will not be as effective as gym.
If you have a large space to have all the gym equipment, then you can do all the gym exercises at home. But you do not need to do all the gym machine workouts. For example, squats is always better than a leg press.
So even without a leg press machine, you can build up your legs at home.
Are home workouts as effective as going to the gym?
Yes, home workouts done with free weights are as effective as going to the gym. If you have free weights then you can do almost anything that a gym machine does. And working out with free weights results in more growth than using machines.
What should you be careful of when working out at home?
If you do not have any protective measures like a power rack at home then you should be conscious about how much weight you are lifting. If you lose your balance then all that weight can come crashing down on you.
What bodyweight exercises are just as good as using gym equipment?
There are no bodyweight exercises that are as good as using gym equipment. We can push our bodies further to increase strength and muscle mass. With only body weight that is not possible. Bodyweight workouts alone will not cut it.
